Tucked into a quiet lane in Osaka's old downtown, KIMIDORIYA is a guesthouse set inside a kominka — a traditional wooden townhouse, now more than ninety years old and carefully restored.
Here, time moves slowly. You don't have to do anything special. Walk the neighborhood, come back, sit down, breathe out. It's in that rhythm that a trip quietly deepens.
Downstairs, the attached café opens the morning; travelers and locals cross paths naturally over coffee. This is a place to settle into the ordinary life of Osaka, at your own pace — and let it carry gently into the rest of your journey.

About
Opened on New Year's Day 2022, KIMIDORIYA is an old-yet-new guesthouse near Osaka Castle. It's a five-minute walk from Midoribashi Station, and central Osaka — Umeda, Shinsaibashi, Namba — is within about thirty minutes. Yet it sits on a quiet residential lane, in a restored townhouse over ninety years old: a downtown inn in the truest sense.
Under the theme "a place where the town and its people come together," KIMIDORIYA is somewhere encounters happen — between guests, locals, and the shops nearby. The café-and-apparel shop SPINIT is attached, so here you'll find clothing, food, and a place to stay all in one. Spend your time in a space with real Japanese character, meet other travelers, and linger over a coffee.

"Fudō-no-yu" is a real Japanese onsen just a short walk away, and unlike many baths in Japan, tattoos are perfectly fine here. Discounted bath tickets are available at our front desk.

Yuntaku — gathering around the table One or two evenings a month, we host yuntaku: everyone shares a table and gets to know one another. The neighborhood is full of great local eateries, so this happens now and then rather than every night. Guests, travelers, and neighborhood regulars all gather — it's become a place for meetings and reunions. Ask us for the next date.

A quiet coffee spot on a back lane, part of everyday life here. Our original medium-dark blend is fragrant and full-bodied with a gentle bitterness. From 9:30 A.M to 12:00 P.M, a popular brunch set pairs a ciabatta sandwich with a drink. A special morning on the road begins with a cup from SPINIT.

No private parking — please use public transport or nearby coin parking. Limited bicycle parking. A local supermarket ("Tako-ichi") is 1 minute away; a convenience store is 5 minutes; a larger supermarket and pharmacy are 5–10 minutes.

KIMIDORIYA is a small guesthouse where people share a space — not a hotel. Bathrooms and common areas are shared.
During your stay, we ask that you:
follow the house rules and flow of the stay
be mindful of noise and personal space in shared areas
put "the comfort of the shared space" ahead of "personal freedom"
If that isn't the right fit for your trip, please choose another stay. Bookings are made on the understanding that you're happy with the above.
Children: welcome in private rooms. The dormitory is for elementary-school age and older, as it's a shared space; we ask for consideration toward other guests.
